Jane Becker, Attorney
Jane Becker has practiced in Santa Cruz since 1986. She represents taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and California taxing authorities (EDD, FTB and State BOE). She presently represents taxpayers in the IRS OVDI Program (Overseas Voluntary Disclosure) and FBAR audits and appeals (foreign bank accounts/failure to disclose the existence of foreign assets). Ms. Becker has served as secretary of the Tax Procedure and Litigation Committee of the Taxation Section of the California State Bar and as editor of the committee’s quarterly newsletter. She is also a member of the American Bar Association’s Taxation Section. Ms. Becker has lectured on state and federal tax issues to various attorney and CPA groups (the Santa Cruz County Bar Association, the Monterey County Bar Association, CalCPA and the California State Bar Annual Convention).
Ally Nelson, Senior Legal Assistant
Ally was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She attended Whitman College and graduated with a B.A. in English Literature in 2008. In 2010 she moved to Santa Cruz with her husband, who is in the Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology PhD program at UCSC. Ally works with clients to gather information needed for representation before the Internal Revenue Service and other tax agencies. She also offers support to clients, assists in research, drafts and edits documents and keeps the office running smoothly. Outside of the office, Ally enjoys running, photography, cooking and weekends spent exploring the Bay Area and Central Coast.
Lannie Pham, Legal Assistant
Lannie attended UC Berkeley and graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy in 2016. While in school she worked as an assistant at Boalt Law School. Upon graduating, Lannie moved to Santa Cruz and began her career as a legal assistant. She helps with administrative and organizational tasks in the office and is excited to learn more about taxation. In her spare time, Lannie enjoys reading science fiction, sewing and crocheting.
